Powell hangs 41 points for record

A Lady Cougar basketball player set a new single game scoring record last night during the team's Dec. 3 over Southern State.

Tiffany Powell scored 41 points.  She was 15/25 from the field, 6/9 with three point shots, and 5/5 from the free throw line.

Powell, a graduate of Central Crossing High School in Grove City, is a second-year player working on an Associate of Arts Degree.

The achievement comes just days after her coach reached a milestone. Randy Crites marked his 200th win November 28 with the narrowest of margins, beating Lake Michigan College 81-80.

The Cougars are members of the National Junior College Athletic Association, Div. II. Columbus State fields teams in Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Golf and Volleyball.
