Parking at Columbus State
Parking Tip of the Day
Columbus State's slogan is "Where the World Is Going" -- and it can feel that way when you're looking for a parking space at 11 a.m. on a Tuesday on the Columbus Campus . But these tips can help make sure you get to class on time.
First thing to remember: Purchase a permit two weeks in advance of quarters, get here early, and be prepared to park in one of the outer lots. The 28-S lot on Mt. Vernon Ave. is often the last one to fill up. Overflow parking is also available at Ft Hayes High School for employees or students, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Second, be aware of peak times. Parking is tightest from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., so try to schedule classes around those times. During Summer Quarter, parking is widely available at peak times in the perimeter lots.
Third, there are lots of opportunities to avoid driving to campus. Columbus State is Ohio's largest provider of distance learning courses, and we do our best to support motorcycles, bicycles, carpoolers and COTA riders. Try a course at one of our Off-Campus Centers -- most of them offer free parking.
