Higher education is more and more necessary
in today's job market - and ever more expensive. Columbus State makes
it easy to get the skills you need for your career.
Columbus State is the affordable choice.
A year at Columbus State
costs around $2,844, compared with $8,706 at a local four-year
Ohio college. The price jumps to an average of $22,461 at private
four-year colleges. Considering you can take the first two years of a
bachelor’s degree at Columbus State, why choose anywhere else?

You need higher education.
An associate or bachelor’s degree is needed for at least 9 of the nation's top 20 fastest growing occupations, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
And here’s another chilling number from the
bureau: "the unemployment rate for high school graduates not enrolled
in college was 26.7 percent, compared with 14.9 percent for
graduates enrolled in college (in either 2- or 4-year
institutions)."
Columbus State has what you're looking for.
We offer a number of courses to help you hone
your skills, even if you’re not looking for a degree at this time. We
have more than 140 degrees and certificates.
At Columbus State, you fit in.
It doesn’t matter who you are.

We welcome everyone.
Columbus State has an open enrollment policy, which means we admit most residents in our coverage zone. You’ll still have to take our COMPASS placement test and fulfill requirements for your major, but we don’t base admissions on ACT scores, SAT scores, or high school rank.
We'll help you along the way.
We have more than 284 full-time faculty and more than 1,300 part-time faculty members. They’re respected in their fields, and many have taught at Columbus State for more than 20 years. Our average class has about 18 students, which means you’ll get the personalized attention you need to succeed.
We've got the technology.
Columbus State students have access to two
large computer labs on the main campus, as well as labs at our
satellite locations and other programs. All told, that's about 1,600
computers. And our Help Desk is always available to help students with
computer questions at (614) 287-5050.
